The walking tour starts at the Malay Heritage Centre which was the former residence of Malay sultans. ‘Dive into Culture’ and discover the stories of Singapore’s early migrants who lived here, including the Arabs, Javanese, Bugis and Chinese, and the rich legacy of the Malay-Muslims. Uncover the neighborhood’s hidden gems with your guide as you walk through the colorful alleyways that used to be the front doors of homes, the playgrounds of children and the hive of activity where residents gathered.
12:15: Pick a spot for lunch at one of the charming and enticing restaurants in Kampong Glam. From here you have some free time to explore the neighborhood’s eclectic shops and lively cafes at your pace or return to the hotel to relax and recharge. Singapore’s first outdoor gallery – Gelam Gallery located on the back lanes of Muscat Street is a perfect backdrop for a photograph to capture your travel memory.

This afternoon, we’ll continue to the Civic District, the birthplace of modern Singapore. Join our Local Specialist, Mr. Jerome Lim, renowned heritage blogger of The Long & Winding Road Blog for historical trivia about the two historical monuments.
