How long have you been working with UOB Travel?
I am glad to say that I will be reaching the 6 years mark this coming July.
What has been your most satisfying moment at UOB Travel or what’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Our office underwent a revamp in 2013, being the project manager, being able to see the shaping of the new changes, being able to carry out the changes according to the requirement of my users was the most satisfying moment. I take pride and joy in seeing my colleagues’ smiling faces when I resolve the technical issue that they are/were encountering.
Share with us one of your best travel experience? Any travel tips?
Maldives, definitely, Maldives. To be able to snorkel in vast blue ocean, frolicking in the clear water with the fishes, swimming in their habitat, is an experience that I will never forget. This is a one in a lifetime experience that everyone should have on their bucket list. My advice to budding travelers is to fully research the countries that you will be visiting so that you will be able to enjoy the festivities and experience the country as the locals do. Lastly, always be equipped with a camera to capture the beautiful memories wherever you are.
What’s the highlight of your career or achievement with UOB Travel?
UOB Travel has taught me many things, including fueling my love for travel. The travel trade has given me a glimpse into the many wonders of the world and taught me to love and respect the various cultures of the countries I’ve visited. I guess I can say, that the greatest achievement for me in UOB Travel is a personal one. My eyes have been opened to our vast world and it’s beautiful people, my heart has been imbued with wanderlust filled with curiosity about us, as a people.
What keeps you motivated?
Definitely the company of my colleagues and my interest in the travel industry.
How many countries have you been to?
More than 15 countries till date.
Where are you travelling next?
Back to Maldives.
What’s the biggest change that you’ve seen/experience in the past years?
It will definitely be technology, how technology has shaped the purchasing pattern of our customers in the travel industry, and most definitely how UOB Travel has embraced Technology to help our customers with their purchases, ease of purchase, more information about their travel destination, to name a few.
